The Wessex Water Customer Challenge Group (CCG) ensures the company's business plans and performance align directly with the needs and priorities of its customers. Acting independently from Wessex Water, the CCG plays an essential role in the organisation's planning cycle. It monitors the performance of the current 2025-30 plan, verifying that targets are met and commitments to customers are upheld. Looking ahead, the group also helps develop the 2030-2035 business plan, ensuring the customer needs and priorities are integrated into Wessex Water's long-term future.

On behalf of the CCG, we are seeking a Technical Report Writer. In this role, you will produce clear, accurate, and accessible reports that document the group’s reviews, challenges, and recommendations on Wessex Water’s performance, customer engagement, and regulatory submissions.

Your technical reports, meeting summaries and position papers will highlight consumer interests and promote transparency. You will also produce the CCG annual report, which is submitted to Ofwat and published publicly. Your responsibilities will include using your experience and technical understanding to support the Chair, and collaborating with CCG members and academic representatives to gather insights.

We are seeking candidates with experience in technical report writing, ideally within the water, utilities or public policy sectors. The successful candidate will have excellent written communication skills, alongside the ability to understand complex information and challenge appropriately. You will demonstrate strong attention to detail, editorial accuracy, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Experience working with customer challenge groups and knowledge of the UK water sector are also desirable.

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the transparency and accountability of one of the UK’s leading water companies, working alongside experts in customer advocacy, environmental policy, and regulatory affairs.
