The Wessex Water Customer Challenge Group (CCG) is an independent voice for customers. The body champions the interests and needs of Wessex Water’s customers, making sure these are fully reflected in the company’s business plans and service delivery. The group includes representatives from a variety of respected local and national organisations, such as CCW, Age UK, Citizens Advice, and the Environment Agency, covering both household and business sectors.
The CCG is deeply involved in Wessex Water’s planning cycle. It has a key responsibility in overseeing the delivery of the current 2025-30 business plan, making sure promises are kept. The group also plays a forward-looking role, helping shape the 2030-2035 business plan and ensuring the customer's voice is built into the blueprint for the future.
We are delighted to be supporting the CCG once again in identifying a new Chair. The Chair provides strategic and hands-on leadership to the group, representing a wide range of consumer views while managing communications with the Wessex Water Board, relevant regulators and government departments.
We are seeking experienced Chairs and Non-Executives with gravitas and proven leadership experience. The successful candidate will have well-developed presentation skills and be able to effectively communicate diverse customer views. They will demonstrate the ability to appropriately challenge Wessex Water’s business plans and key decisions. The Chair will also utilise a wide-ranging network of contacts across the geographic region to bring valuable insights to the group’s work.
Prospective candidates will have a background combining governance, stakeholder engagement, and consumer advocacy. We especially value experience where customer focus and direct engagement were highly emphasised. Key personal attributes we seek are independence, skilled communication, and genuine consumer empathy.
