BS3 Community Development seeks CEO
Key information:
- Location: Bristol, UK.
- Salary: £60-65k per annum + benefits.
- Closing date: 23rd November 2025.
Founded by local residents, BS3 Community Development has spent over 30 years improving community wellbeing, health, happiness, and connection. What began as the restoration of a single school building has blossomed into a thriving organisation. They now operate two major hubs, the Southville Centre and the Chessel Centre, while working out of community centres across the BS3 postcode and championing important local projects.
BS3 Community Development’s CEO is retiring in 2026, and they’re searching for an inspiring, dynamic successor who shares their passion and vision. The new CEO will lead an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff, volunteers, and trustees. This team is focused on achieving a tangible difference for all their beneficiaries, spanning from children in their nurseries to older residents participating in organised social groups.
As Chief Executive, you will:
Drive the development and implementation of strategic plans and secure a diverse income approach.
Support opportunities for all staff to thrive and develop their learning, development and careers.
Act as a role model, reinforcing the organisation's values and the way community needs are met while encouraging innovation.
Ensure good governance, safeguarding and risk management, ensuring that the charity is operated in a way that meets all legislative, statutory, and other requirements.
Develop an appropriate network of contacts and act as an ambassador for BS3 Community Development.
The successful candidate will inspire trust and unite diverse teams behind a shared mission. They will have a track record of community engagement, including working directly with local communities, grassroots organisations, or community-led initiatives to deliver meaningful impact. The CEO will have senior leadership experience, ideally within a charity or third sector organisation. They will be a collaborative leader who can navigate complex, evolving external environments and demonstrate sound judgement under pressure.
This is a rewarding role for a leader who can balance strategic growth with the operational realities of a community-focused charity.
