The organisation exists to grow participation, promote diversity, regulate the game and use football as a force for positive change across local communities.
Wiltshire FA is now seeking to appoint an Independent Non-Executive Director to join its Board at an exciting stage in its development. As the organisation continues to expand its impact, strengthen community partnerships and deliver against its 2024-2028 strategy, this appointment will play a key role in shaping future direction and ensuring effective governance.
The successful candidate will provide strategic oversight, constructive challenge and support to the Executive Team and fellow Board members. Working collaboratively, you will help guide organisational strategy, strengthen governance, oversee performance and contribute to the sustainable growth of football and its wider social impact across Wiltshire.
For this role we are particularly keen to hear from individuals who bring expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Third sector leadership and governance
Charity development and charitable structures
Funding, grant applications and bid writing
Fundraising and income diversification
Public sector engagement
Civic partnerships and stakeholder relationship management
Community development and social impact
Strategic partnership development
Commercial sustainability and revenue generation
Candidates will demonstrate strong leadership experience, excellent communication and influencing skills, and a commitment to inclusive governance. You will be able to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders and bring sound judgement, integrity and strategic thinking to Board discussions. An interest in grassroots sport and a passion for enhancing opportunities within local communities will be highly valued.
The role requires a commitment of approximately 1-2 days per month, including six Board meetings annually, committee participation, preparation time and occasional strategic support to the Executive Team. The appointment is for an initial three-year term.
This is an outstanding opportunity to help shape the future of grassroots football in Wiltshire, using your professional expertise to support an organisation committed to improving lives, strengthening communities and creating positive social impact through sport.
