7 - 11 November is Trustees’ Week in the UK – giving us the opportunity to celebrate the immense contributions of the nearly 1 million Trustees across the UK.
While Trustees usually come from successful, celebrated careers in other fields, the work they do for charity often goes on in the background, remaining silent and unsung.
Well, this is a week for busting the silence and shouting about the brilliance of Trustees! So, we’re giving the floor to some Trustees recently placed by Moon Executive Search, to share their experiences…
I love being a Trustee, and it's just one of the ways I've been connected to the voluntary sector. Whether working in governance as a board, or supporting a charity as a front line volunteer, there are so many ways to get involved in civil society and give back to your communities.
I'm a fundraising consultant, and being able to support with fundraising strategy is such a joy - and often so vital - for the charities I advise as a board member. There is something really satisfying in volunteering your skills and experience, whatever they may be, for an important cause.
I'm currently on the board of local charity Your Park, and chair their fundraising and communications committee. Your Park Bristol and Bath enables everybody to benefit from green spaces because they are vital to our health and wellbeing”.
