●      Job Ref: JO2705

●      Closing Date: Midnight, Sunday 11th October 2026

Our client, The Carers’ Centre, is a trusted and long‑standing charity supporting more than 8,000 unpaid carers across Bath and North East Somerset. For 30 years, they have ensured carers of all ages are recognised, valued, and supported to stay well, stay in control, and stay connected. With a newly awarded seven‑year adult carers contract and continued delivery of young carers’ services through to 2029, the organisation is entering an exciting and ambitious phase of development.

About the role

They are now seeking to appoint a Treasurer to join their committed and values‑driven Board of Trustees. This is a pivotal governance role at a time when unpaid carers are increasingly central to the sustainability of our health and social care systems. The Carers’ Centre is strengthening its digital innovation, expanding its reach to hidden carers, and diversifying income streams, all underpinned by strong financial stewardship.

For this role we are keen to hear from candidates who bring:

  • Financial qualifications and/or senior financial experience

  • Understanding of charity finance, governance, and statutory reporting

  • Confidence overseeing budgets, accounts, reserves, and investment policies

  • The ability to analyse proposals and advise on financial implications

  • Sound judgement, strategic insight, and a collaborative approach

  • A commitment to The Carers’ Centre’s values and the Nolan principles of public life

The Treasurer will work closely with the Chair, CEO, and Board to ensure financial sustainability, compliance, and effective risk management. You will play an important role in shaping financial strategy, supporting income diversification, and ensuring the organisation is well positioned to meet rising demand and the evolving needs of carers across BaNES.

This is an outstanding opportunity to contribute your expertise to a charity with a powerful mission, strong foundations, and a clear strategic vision. Your leadership will help ensure unpaid carers — adult and young — receive the recognition, support, and connection they deserve.
