Phil Walker, Pennant’s CEO, approached Moon based on a reputation for successful Board appointments and experience with listed companies. Pennant were looking for a Non-Executive Director to join their Board. They were seeking a candidate with both emotional intelligence and analytical skills. A creative and flexible thinker who could inspire others to achieve positive change. They needed experience in delivering key operational outputs and would have knowledge of the Defence and Aerospace sectors.
Our Approach:
The search was a collaborative effort by Simon Quinn, Moon’s Director of Executive Search and our Founding Director Vanessa Moon. Our first step was extensive consultation with Pennant’s Board. We wanted to fully understand their vision for the future Non-Executive Director. Secondly, we endeavoured to grasp the culture, values and goals of Pennant International Group. This propelled our search for the ideal candidate for the NED position.
We initiated a comprehensive talent hunt to seek out potential candidates, utilising Simon and Vanessa’s broad networks. Our rigorous screening process allowed us to identify a select group of promising candidates.
We had detailed discussions regarding the job requirements and how each candidate would facilitate success at Pennant. Subsequently, we carefully curated the final shortlist and presented it to the Board, marking the start of the official selection proceedings.
The Solution:
Pennant’s Board were excited by each of the candidates on our shortlist. We were delighted that our recommendations led to the selection of Deborah Wilkinson as Non-Executive Director at Pennant International Group. Ms Wilkinson is a chartered accountant (FCA) who trained with Deloitte and holds a BEng (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering. Before taking on the role she had held various financial and commercial leadership roles with a range of businesses and has extensive experience in the defence aviation sector.
Following Ms Wilkinson’s significant success in the NED role, Pennant sought our assistance filling another Board position. We were thrilled to work with them again, having thoroughly enjoyed meeting the Leadership Team and gaining an understanding of the company and their culture. Our search yielded an outstanding candidate. Ian Dighé has extensive Board experience and was extremely impressive during the interview process. We are pleased Mr Dighé was selected to join the Non-Executive Board.
