St Mary Redcliffe Church Lands Charity (CLC) is a charitable trust that manages the historic endowment of St Mary Redcliffe Church. For over 800 years, the Charity has provided stability, support, and funding to the Church and parish. This includes funding the maintenance of the iconic Grade I Listed church building, divine services held in the church, and charitable work within the community.
The Redcliffe area is undergoing a period of transformation. Construction in the North alongside a broader Neighbourhood Development Plan is set to create a vibrant, mixed-use on Redcliffe Way that seamlessly connects the northern and southern parts of the parish. At the heart of this change is St Mary Redcliffe Church, which is working to strengthen community connections and involvement within the neighbourhood.
The CLC is currently seeking several high-calibre individuals to join its Board of Directors. These unpaid roles are crucial for both the day-to-day operations and the ongoing development of the Charity.
Directors are expected to attend approximately five board meetings and four sub-committee meetings annually. These meetings typically take place in the early evening and last about 90 minutes. In addition, the CLC hosts four engaging events each year – directors are encouraged to attend when possible.
The organisation hopes to hear from skilled communicators with a track record of strategic planning and financial management. You will be able to lead and inspire others, and possess an understanding of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of directorship. The successful candidate will also have senior leadership experience. While the CLC welcomes candidates with broad sector experience, they are particularly interested in candidates with a background in Accountancy and Finance Management, Asset Management, Charitable Grant Making, Charity and Real Estate Law, Faith based Organisation Leadership and Property Management and Surveying. Furthermore, you will be passionate about the not-for-profit sector and an advocate for equality, diversity and inclusion.
