My First Board Role: Carlos Leira

At Moon Executive Search, we work closely with our clients to place candidates in a range of Board roles, from Non-Executive Directors in multinational corporations, to Chairs and Trustees in non-profit organisations.

6 – 11 March is Careers Week in the UK – giving us the opportunity to look closer at a rarely looked at aspect of career development – the addition of Board roles to a successful career.

So, we're asking first-time Board members placed by Moon Executive Search how their board role has changed their career.

Today we're privileged to have insights from Carlos Leira.

Chief Product and Technology Officer at Europcar Mobility Group, Carlos was appointed a Trustee / Director of Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity in the spring of 2022.

Bristol and Weston Hospitals Charity supports University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust, which runs the City centre hospitals (BRI / Children’s Hospital / South Bristol and Weston.) The charity raises funds that go Above and Beyond NHS budgets to support patients and staff.

“Thanks to Moon Exec and to Sandy that supported me in the journey of finding my first Trustee position. I enjoy being able to bring my skills to help the purpose of the charity and this is helping me further mature as a leader, exposes me further to the critical importance of our NHS and I get to work with a truly amazing set of individuals both in the charity team as well as other fellow trustees. It has been a game changer.”
