(Closed) Enable Trust seeks two Trustees

Enable Trust is a specialist school Trust that delivers the best quality provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND). The Charity was established in 2018, with a vision to strengthen advocacy and outcomes for young people with complex needs. They oversee two schools in South Gloucestershire, with another opening in September 2024. Enable’s overarching mission is to work together passionately to achieve the best outcome for SEND children and young people - hence their slogan ‘achieving more together.’

The Trust is a strong voice both locally and nationally in advocating for pupils with special needs. They aspire to expand to the point where they can shape national policy, improving the quality of SEN provision across the UK. They aim to increase their reach to 10 schools over the coming years, to improve the lives of more children and families with special educational needs.

To help them achieve these goals, Enable Trust is seeking two Trustees. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals to make a real difference within the local community and become part of a young and rapidly growing Charity.

Trustees are vital in ensuring high-quality education for children in Enable’s schools. They mould the organisation's strategic direction and hold Executives accountable for educational and financial performance. The Board of Trustees ensures good governing practices are maintained and the Trust complies with all organisational regulations. Furthermore, Trustees act as ambassadors for the Charity, representing them at functions and events and safeguarding Enable’s values and reputation.

Enable are hoping to hear from creative individuals with good independent judgement and a strong sense of integrity. Each Trustee will have a track record of developing organisational strategy and knowledge of the legal duties, responsibilities and liabilities of trusteeship. Ideally, candidates would have experience in Project Management, Business Development or Health & Safety - as the Trust looks to increase its expertise in these areas.

If you’re passionate about shaping the future for children with special educational needs, and fit the criteria above, we’d love to hear from you.
