Eastside Community Trust seeks Chair of Trustees

Location: Easton, Bristol. Meeting held either in-person or online.
Unremunerated: Voluntary role, with travel and childcare expenses reimbursed.
Closing date: 17th September 2025.
Eastside Community Trust was formed in 2020 through the merger of three successful and respected local charities: Easton Community Centre, Felix Road Adventure Playground, and Up Our Street. These organisations, which had always worked closely together, shared a common goal of building a stronger community.
The Trust is dedicated to connecting people of all ages and helping local people build a healthy and happy neighbourhood together. They provide spaces and opportunities for people to come together, share experiences, and build lasting relationships. The Charity serves the diverse and dynamic communities of Easton and Lawrence Hill. An area full of creative, resilient, and community-minded people who care deeply for one another and their neighbourhood.
They are now seeking a new Chair of the Board who can lead the organisation’s growth and improvement, as they implement a newly formed strategy. As Chair, you will:
● Lead and manage the Board, engaging Trustees to fulfil their governance responsibilities.
● Support and supervise the CEO, serving as the primary link between the Board and staff.
● Act as a figurehead and spokesperson for the Charity and encourage engagement in profile-raising activities.
We are seeking candidates with strong leadership experience, ideally having chaired a Board before. You should be ready to work closely with the CEO and fellow Trustees to lead the organisation effectively. This includes reliably attending meetings, away days, and training sessions.
The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the Trust’s work within the city and the issues that affect diverse, inner-city communities. A strong connection to Easton or Lawrence Hill, either living or working in the area, is also highly desirable.
