Age UK Wiltshire seeks CEO
Key information:
- Salary: Up to £65,000.
- Location: Hybrid across Wiltshire, Swindon & Southampton.
- Full-time: Permanent.
- Closing date: 5 March 2026.
For 75 years, Age UK Wiltshire has helped older people across Wiltshire, Swindon, and Southampton to be independent and connected. Guided by a vision of a world where every older person feels included and valued, their mission is brought to life by a dedicated team of 90 staff and 200 volunteers.
The charity inspires and supports older people to lead fulfilling lives. From delivering over 210 daily meals and wellbeing checks to securing £2.9m in unclaimed benefits, they balance essential practical support with social initiatives like befriending, fitness groups, and creative workshops. They also provide statutory Carers Assessments and operate a welcoming day centre, ensuring that older individuals and their carers are respected, valued, and empowered to remain active members of their communities.
With the organisation's long-term Chief Executive set to retire in 2026, Age UK Wiltshire is seeking a new leader to guide its future. The charity is looking for an emotionally intelligent, values-driven individual who can work collaboratively with a dedicated Board of Trustees. The new CEO will expand Age UK Wilshire’s reach and impact, ensuring services adapt to the evolving needs of older people.
This is a highly visible, people-centred leadership role. As CEO, you will:
● Set and lead the strategic direction, ensuring the charity delivers high-quality, impactful services.
● Inspire and empower the team, nurturing a positive culture across a geographically dispersed workforce.
● Build strong relationships with partners, commissioners, funders and communities.
● Drive organisational development and growth, identifying opportunities to strengthen and expand services.
● Collaborate with the Chair, Trustees, and leadership teams to ensure the organisational values are lived every day, and operations are sustainable.
We are seeking candidates who are purpose-driven, compassionate, and committed to supporting older people. The ideal individual is an experienced senior leader from the charity, health, social care or public sector, with strong people and organisational development skills. You will be a natural relationship builder, able to influence, collaborate and represent the organisation externally with confidence.
The CEO will be financially astute, with a solid understanding of governance, compliance and risk. You will be a collaborative leader who empowers teams rather than directs them. Above all, you will bring authenticity, humility and a drive for community compassion and impact.
