Lead Housing Operations. Enhance Resident Experience. Shape the Future.

Our client, Abbeyfield Bristol & Keynsham Society, provides high-quality housing and support for older people across a network of residential communities. As the organisation continues to evolve and strengthen its services, they are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Head of Housing Operations to lead housing delivery across multiple sites and play a key role within the senior leadership team.

Reporting directly to the Chief Executive Officer, this newly developed leadership position offers the opportunity to influence organisational performance, resident satisfaction, operational excellence, and future growth.

As Head of Housing Operations, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across the Society's housing portfolio, ensuring services are safe, consistent, compliant, and resident focused. Working closely with house managers and central support colleagues, you will establish robust operating standards, drive continuous improvement, and ensure excellent outcomes for residents.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading housing operations across multiple locations.

  • Driving occupancy performance and overseeing the resident journey.

  • Championing resident satisfaction, complaint resolution, and service quality.

  • Acting as the operational lead for safeguarding.

  • Monitoring operational performance, compliance, and risk management.

  • Working alongside colleagues to oversee maintenance programmes, contractor performance, and property-related initiatives.

  • Identifying opportunities for commercial development, service innovation, and income generation.

  • Developing and supporting managers to deliver consistently high standards across all sites.

We are looking for an accomplished operational leader with experience managing multi-site services within housing, later living, health, hospitality, or similarly regulated environments. You will bring a strong track record of leading managers, improving service performance, and delivering meaningful organisational change.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Significant senior leadership experience in housing, older people's services, or a related sector.

  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, complaints management, service quality, and operational risk.

  • Experience using performance data to drive improvement and accountability.

  • Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Sound commercial judgement and a continuous improvement mindset.

  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership.

Experience within social housing, property management, contractor oversight, marketing, or business development would be advantageous.

This is an opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to the lives of older people while helping shape the future direction of a respected and purpose-led organisation. You will join a committed team focused on delivering outstanding resident experiences and sustainable growth.
