(Closed) St John’s Foundation: Trustees of the Board

A fantastic opportunity to join the Board of the charity that has supported the people of Bath and the surrounding area for over 845 years.

St John’s Foundation is a local Registered Charity (201476) that has supported the people of Bath and the surrounding area for over 845 years. Today, they work in partnership to build communities where children can grow into happy, healthy and educated members of society, while continuing to honour their founding principle of supporting older adults to live independently.

Every aspect of their work is built upon their values of trust, kindness and courage, and inspired by their purpose:

To change lives. For good.

The Charity launched an ambitious and bold new 10-year strategy at the beginning of 2020 and this will build on their achievements of the previous five years that have extended St John’s charitable reach and strengthened their capability to support and influence the work of many other charities working in Bath and North East Somerset.

Taking this further, they have tightened their focus and aim to achieve even greater impact on some of the greatest areas of social challenge faced in the region. To change lives, for good In this pivotal time for the Charity, they now seek to attract new members to the Board who are going to add value and contribute to their new direction.

They will need to have the energy, skills and desire to help St John’s traverse their ambitious new journey. These roles are needed to support the Charity’s existing Board of Trustees and to broaden the skills of the governing body. These roles are voluntary; Trustees should expect to attend c.8-10 meetings per year. The role requires good communications skills and the ability to think objectively and make sound, independent judgements. Ideally previous Trustee experience would be advantageous within a charity or committee setting, although this is not essential.
