This client is a global high-end luxury consumer brand with a world-class offering and reach.
They came to us to review their consumer and digital offering and instructed us to manage a European search at Board level to bring in two new Non-Exec Directors. The aim was to help position the business as number one in its sector.
Our Approach
Our Process was led by Founding Director Vanessa Moon and Director of Search Simon Quinn. They initially worked with the client to establish the direction of the brand. This involved undertaking specific market research and presenting our report to the Board with recommendations. Following consultation, we agreed on areas of the market to penetrate through our search, which included luxury goods, perfumery and designer labels.
Of utmost importance was finding a brand that had the same ethics and standards as our client.
Reputation and name recognition were also important. We were seeking candidates who not only brought insight into the luxury sector but who could also offer strong digital and e-commerce skills. These were new Non-Exec appointments for the business, and our brief centred on identifying candidates who demonstrated successful executive careers coupled with well-established advisory relationships and the ability to offer insights into market trends and competitors.
Vanessa and Simon provided advisory consultation prior to the campaign on market dynamics and then put together a shortlist of names from across Europe.
The Solution
After a thorough review of the market, Moon was successful in introducing two Non-Exec Directors, one UK-based, and joining from a high-end fashion label, and the other Paris-based joining from an accessories business.
