This is a global manufacturer, with a client base of international blue-chip corporates and operating across the EMEA, Americas and APAC regions.

We have had a long-standing relationship with the Group and have worked with them since 2016 on a number of projects from Global Sales, Technical and Finance leads.

The Challenge

This role was about expanding their international footprint and having a European based sales lead. The business was keen for us to source candidates with global experience and networks who could help support, establish, and grow their customer base, to increase their footprint in Europe and wider regions.

They were seeking a Sales, Commercial Director or Managing Director level candidate who brought a portfolio of senior level contacts and had experience of industrial conglomerates.

Our Approach

As a business, Moon Executive Search has considerable experience of working with International groups, in the UK and Europe and have a wide network of connections.

Our role was to identify individuals with relevant industry and sector expertise, who brought a great professional network with excellent negotiation skills. We found that candidates who fitted this brief were not actively seeking new opportunities in the market, therefore advertising or relying on a database of ‘active’ individuals was unlikely to provide the right candidates. We have a very active international network across Europe as well as EMEA that we accessed for this search.

As this was an International search, we also had to be cognisant of local time zones for all our correspondence and meetings.

Our role was to be an advocate for the client by headhunting individuals from our own network and from target organisations, to create a shortlist of candidates with the required qualifications, experience and skills.

The Solution

We carried out a very comprehensive international campaign and met with many senior individuals under a Non-Disclosure Agreement. During our meetings, we sought to select candidates for our shortlist who evidenced gravitas and strong leadership skills, as well as great networks, as the team would be assisting blue chip organisations achieve their strategic goals such as reduction of leverage and working capital, increasing dividends or simply funding future growth without increasing debt.
