Cornwall College Group is one of the biggest further education colleges in the UK. The College caters to diverse ambitions by offering a wide range of specialist vocational training, alongside higher education programs. Operating out of 10 locations across Cornwall and Devon with 13,000 annual learners, the College is one of the largest education and training provider in the region.

In 1996, Cornwall College established Concorde Group - a recruitment agency serving private companies, public sector clients, and educational institutions across the South West. Concorde Group were seeking a Managing Director to set the strategic direction of the business.  

Our Founding Director, Vanessa Moon, led the search campaign. The search was initially a confidential headhunt, however this presented some challenges. The role was based in Truro, so we were restricted to local candidates or those willing to relocate. After a consultation with the client, we took the search public, expanding our scope and reaching a wider audience. We conducted a comprehensive advertising campaign and unearthed some excellent candidates. Following an in-depth interview process, we recommended that Tony Marshall be appointed Managing Director.

We were delighted that the Concorde Group decided to proceed with our recommended candidate. Mr Marshall has significant leadership experience within commercial recruitment and presented an astute plan of how he would propel the business forward. We were particularly impressed by his strategic prowess and expertise in revenue generation.

The Managing Director would have senior leadership experience in a commercial recruitment environment and a track record of proactive financial decisions. Furthermore, they would be a strategic and analytical thinker, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to ensure efficient business operations.
