(Closed) Abbeyfield Wessex Society seeks Business Manager

Abbeyfield Wessex Society is a member of Abbeyfield, a compassionate national charity dedicated to providing safe and nurturing homes for older people, promoting independent living with a welcoming haven, for individuals aged 55 and above.

Each of their houses has a unique charm, whilst adhering to the highest standards of safety, security and service. Their dedicated staff are committed to ensuring every resident feels comfortable, supported and valued.

The Abbeyfield network, encompassing Abbeyfield Wessex, its UK Member Societies and its international affiliates, form a close-knit global community known as the ‘Abbeyfield Family’. This distinctive structure allows for personalised care and support tailored to the needs of each community, whilst leveraging the collective strength of the Abbeyfield network.

With approximately 9,000 residents residing in 850 homes and houses worldwide, the Abbeyfield Family continues to expand, committed to enriching the lives of older adults globally. The organisational mission is to create tranquil and positive communal environments where residents can embrace their later years with independence and fulfilment.

Abbeyfield Wessex is seeking a Business Manager to ensure the society continues to thrive and provide the best possible service to their residents, across the Gloucestershire and Somerset region. The Business Manager will report directly to the CEO, assisting them with business acquisitions and new developments. They will be responsible for accommodation allocation, ensuring availability is assigned appropriately. Furthermore, the Business Manager will make sure all premises meet external and internal compliance standards and the highest possible level of resident satisfaction is maintained.

They’re hoping to hear from individuals with managerial experience, ideally in the supported/sheltered housing sector, and a track record of delivering/developing services. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate sensitively and tactfully. They will be naturally caring, with the capability to empathise with older people. In addition, a full driving licence is required for transport between Abbeyfield Wessex premises.

If you’re interested in joining the Abbeyfield Family, bound by a shared commitment to enrich the lives of older people, please get in touch.
